Monday
Early this morning there was a parade of trucks going down the hill past the old grain bins. There were four rock haulers and each one was pulling a dump trailer. The road down the hill is still very rough so they were driving very slow. I missed a great photo opportunity! They dumped their load by the cattle guard at the pad sight.
Later today the fencing crew started working in front of Great's house and installed one cattle guard in the fence line between the house and the highway. The road will enter at our old driveway entrance from the highway then swing across the front yard and down the east side of the house toward the grain bins.
At the north place they used a giant tiller machine to mix lime with the soil to help stabalize it before adding the rock covering. Then they leveled the whole area again, packed it with a sheep's foot packer and then a smooth roller packer. It should now be ready for the road base material.
